I am writing to share the fantastic achievements of our 3 colleagues who completed the London Marathon last Sunday, and together, have raised a whopping £10,247.32 for Heads Together.
Every penny raised is contributing to good mental health for all, through the campaigns of The Royal Foundation. This includes their work for children through the ‘Mentally Healthy Schools Project’ and adults through ‘Mental Health at Work’, ‘Mental Fitness Training’, and also through ‘Shout’ which is a text platform available for anyone in need of support and advice.
Christine, Keith and Suzanne all successfully completed the full 26.2 mile marathon without a hitch, all achieving fantastic personal times thanks to their commitment to training in the months leading up to the day!
Here’s what they all have to say about the day…
Suzanne Revill, Order to Cash Manager – Macclesfield OfficeChristine Pollitt, General Assistant – Nottingham University Hospital Keith Dixon, Fleet Manager – Macclesfield Office
‘From the first day I heard I had been selected I have had an amazing time with fundraising, with the help of my work colleagues, family and friends. Finally, the race day came which was emotional. The day was amazing, I’m still smiling about it! I was reasonably pleased with my time of 4.29.28. I hope to be able to do 2020 and I would recommend to everyone to try it’ Christine.
‘The last 6 months of training and fundraising have been a fantastic experience. I’m so grateful for all the support from Elior colleagues. But the day itself was something else, I’ll never forget the sights and sounds of running through the crowded streets of London and heading toward the finish line knackered but absolutely delighted. Just brilliant’ Keith.
‘I was absolutely petrified on the morning of the marathon but I really didn’t need to be as the whole experience was amazing, I couldn’t stop smiling from the start all the way to the finishing line. It really didn’t feel like I was running 26.2 miles and that was down to the crowds as they really do keep you going, it’s unbelievable how many people come and watch and cheer you on it’s like a street party.’ Suzanne.
From all of us at Elior and Heads Together, we are sending a huge thank you to each of you for your efforts, well done.
